Clean is Good

I’ve (mostly) finished cleaning up the room now. I can see the floor, I can use my desks, my bed, etc. There are some minor things I still need to do that I just haven’t because I haven’t been home to do it (school, work, snowstorm stranding me at another’s house, crazy things this month) but I’m getting to them as I can. I still need to go through and dust everything, put a few things away, move the printer to the closet and hook it up to the server, clean up my partner’s gaming PC, and vacuum. I might also go through the displays I have up (posters and junk stuck to the wall, and toys on the shelf above my window) and take some down or change what’s put on display.

Once all that is done, I’ll be good to go.

Let me just tell you – it feels great. I am a bit bummed that I haven’t finished all of the cleaning that I wanted yet, but the overall feeling is still wonderful. I can breathe again. I can move again. I feel like I’m regaining control.

I read in a Lifehacker article that one of the top reasons for people to not be happy is disorganization (even in normally disorganized people). I can confirm that I always feel more stressed when things are disorganized, and I’m glad to be back in control of that.

Thanks to everyone who has lent me their support.

The next step is eating right and eating enough. Not sure how I’ll conquer that one.
